The 44th Grammy Awards were held on February 27, 2002. They recognized accomplishments by musicians from the previous year. The biggest winner of this year was Alicia Keys, winning 5 Grammys, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for "Fallin'". Lenny Kravitz won his fourth consecutive Grammy award in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category for "Dig In", breaking the record for most wins in that category, and also for most consecutive wins in one category (1999-2002).
