Advance and Be Mechanized, released in 1967, was the penultimate Tom and Jerry cartoon. It was directed by Ben Washam and produced by Chuck Jones, and is the third and last of the outer space themed shorts from the Chuck Jones era, the first two being Guided Mouse-ille and O-Solar Meow, both in 1967.

Following on from the other space-age shorts, Tom and Jerry are using cat and mouse robots to do the chasing for them. However, their metallic counterparts, fed up of being bashed about, switch roles with their furry operators and the real Tom and Jerry find themselves battling each other.
Some of the animation is recycled from Guided Mouse-ille, made the previous year.
