Alien³ is a video game for the Nintendo Game Boy based on the 1993 film of the same name. Unlike other console games using the same title, the Game Boy version is a top-down adventure game.
Plot
After crash-landing on Fiorina 'Fury' 161 in an EEV (Emergency Escape Vehicle) unit, the player (as Ellen Ripley) must explore the prison complex and battle an alien infestation while attempting to find the items necessary to repair the EEV and escape the planet.
Gameplay
The player moves around the maze-like rooms of the prison complex collecting items (medpacks, firearms, ammunition, etc.) and rescuing prisoners while avoiding enemies such as facehuggers and full-grown Aliens. The player has a limited number of lives to spend while he tries to escape. Base members and enemies appear randomly in the rooms. The game includes simple cut scenes that reflect events in the movie.
