Blue is a forthcoming Indian film starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan. It is an action film which is being filmed in the Bahamas. It was written by American writers Joshua Lurie and Bryan M. Sullivan.

It is one of the most expensive films ever made in India with an estimated budget of more than Rs.100 crore.

Production

Shipwreck and treasure being a part of the storyline, most of the filming will take place underwater. The filming is started in Summer 2008.[2] All the actors of the film have undergone deep-sea Scuba diving training in Bangkok.[3] Lara Dutta, who plays an underwater diver, didn't know how to swim earlier. She says "When I was offered 'Blue', I was a little skeptical but then thought it is now or never. I swim like a fish today, and am an expert in diving". It is also rumuored that she will be seen in a bikini in the film.[4]

Accidents

Akshay Kumar, a certified deep sea diver, was injured while shooting for the film. The shot required Akshay to be 75ft deep in water, surrounded by 35 sharks. Akshay hit his head against the shipwreck and started bleeding, a lot of sharks reached there after getting the smell of his blood. Seeing this, the entire crew and cast members dived into the sea and surrounded him. He came out safe and was immediately rushed to hospital for first aid.[5] This is not the first time Akshay Kumar has swum with sharks. In the film Aankhen, Akshay dived into a tank full of sharks.[3]

Music

A.R. Rehman has been roped in by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. to compose the music for the film.[6]
