Bulandi is an Anil Kapoor film, a remake of Natamayi.In Bulundi, Anil Kapor portrays the protagonist, with Rekha and Ravina in supporting roles. Shakthi Kapoor plays the role of the villain. South Indian superstar Rajni Kanth plays the character Bala Takur, which he played in the Telugu version Pedarayudu as Paparayudu, which was well received in southern language.

Anil Kapoor plays the head of the village, the role of his younger brother was played by Sharath Kumar in Tamil and Mohan Babu in Telugu. The story revolves around the environment of a village during the Panchayati Raj rule. The hero's family brings justice to the village. This film shows a typical Tamil style of storyline, by K S Ravikumar.
