History

Dominic College was created in 1973 when Savio College, Holy Name Secondary School for Girls', Savio Primary School and St. John's Primary Schools all merged to create the first co-educational catholic college in Tasmania. In 1995 a restructuring of Catholic education in Tasmania saw Dominic's secondary college (years 11 & 12) merge with other Catholic schools in Hobart to form Guilford Young College.
