Já podeis da Pátria filhos
Ver contente a Mãe gentil;
Já raiou a Liberdade
No Horizonte do Brasil
Já raiou a Liberdade
Já raiou a Liberdade
No Horizonte do Brasil

Already you can, Motherland's sons,
See happy your gentle mother.
Liberty's already risen
At Brazil's horizon.
Liberty's already risen
Liberty's already risen
At Brazil's horizon.

Brava Gente Brasileira
Longe vá, temor servil;
Ou ficar a Pátria livre,
Ou morrer pelo Brasil.
Ou ficar a Pátria livre,
Ou morrer pelo Brasil.

Brave Brazilian people!
Far off go, servile fear!
Or be the Motherland free,
Or die for Brazil.
Or be the Motherland free,
Or die for Brazil.

Os grilhões que nos forjava
Da perfídia astuto ardil,
Houve Mão mais poderosa,
Zombou deles o Brasil.
Houve Mão mais poderosa
Houve Mão mais poderosa
Zombou deles o Brasil.
2
The chains that forged for us
Perfidy's astute slyness,
There was a most powerful Hand,
Sneered on them Brazil.
There was a most powerful Hand,
There was a most powerful Hand,
Sneered on them Brazil.
(Refrão)
(Chorus)

O Real Herdeiro Augusto
Conhecendo o engano vil,
Em despeito dos Tiranos
Quis ficar no seu Brasil.
Em despeito dos Tiranos
Em despeito dos Tiranos
Quis ficar no seu Brasil.

The august royal heir (Pedro I)
Knowing the evil mislead (Portugueses intention of to unmake the Brazilian Kigdom, then Brazil will became a colony again)

Want to stay in Brazil

Da cruel Guerra Civil,
Mas fugirão apressadas
Vendo o Anjo do Brasil.

When see the Brazilian Angel

Nosso grito varonil;
Nos imensos ombros logo
A cabeça ergue o Brasil.

As soon as sounded in far away mountains
Our manful shout
In huge shoulders soon
