Summary

Mandalay Hill from Mingun across the Irrawaddy "when the water is small". Note the vast seasonal island in the river leaving a narrow channel in winter. These fertile islands are a frequent cause for dispute among the neighbouring villages over which one of them has the right to grow crops on.
