  • Kafir, pl. Kuffar (Arabic), Kofer, pl. Kofrim (Hebrew) — "coverer" — unbeliever; "a person who hides or covers the truth"
  • Takfir (Arabic) — excommunication
    • Mukaffir — the act which precipitates takfir
  • Kafare (Arabic) — sentence for a crime, for example lashes for adultery, used in religious issues
