Kotli Sattian is a tehsil (subdivision) of Rawalpindi District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.[1] Its name is derived from the mountain town of Kotli and the Satti tribe. Main tribes of the area include the Dhanyal.

In the past there was a bungalow of a Gakhar chief. The house was called Kotli and afterwards the town became known as Kotli, too. It is located about 65 km from Rawalpindi. There is a village "Korina KalaN" which is famous for fruits and terrible traditions. It is located in east of Kotli Sattian about 7 km away from tehsil headquarter.
Kotli Sattian was earlier a part of Kahuta Tehsil and Murree Tehsil but now is a separate tehsil. Its located at 50km distance from Islamabad.
In the village of Kamra Sharif there is a saint's tomb known as Hob-e-Ali Almaroof Sian Tika Sarkar Qadri. Another tomb of a famous saint Syed Sadiq Shah Khad Sharif is located near Kahuti Bazar.
