Kaushalya (Sanskrit: कौशल्या, kauśalyā), in the Hindu epic Rāmāyaṇa, was the eldest[1] of King Daśaratha's three wives and a queen of Ayodhyā, she was the daughter of the King of Kosala Kingdom. She was the mother of Rāma.
