Green River is the third album by American band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released in 1969 (see 1969 in music). In 2003, the album was ranked number 95 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Songwriter John Fogerty wrote the song about being trapped in a town called "Lodi". Lodi, California is about 75 miles from Fogerty's hometown of El Cerrito, Contra Costa County, California. He has said in interviews about how he hated going to the town. Members of the band have said in concert that the song is about the California town and how they don't want to go back.
All songs written by John Fogerty, except where noted.
Note: All tracks recorded sometime in mid-1969, except for † recorded March 1969
