The Maharashtra cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Maharashtra in the city of Pune . It is in the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy. It is one of three teams based in Maharashtra, the other being Ranji Trophy superpower Mumbai and the Vidarbha cricket team.

Maharashtra has become the first team in Ranji Cricket to invite foreign players for the season of 2008-09.
