Minissha Lamba (born on January 18, 1982 in Kashmir) is an Indian actress. Lamba is fast-emerging as a rising star in the Bollywood industry finding main-stream success in recent years. Her movies include “Corporate”, “Rocky: The Rebel”, “Anthony Kaun Hai”,“Honeymoon Travels”,“Anamika”, "Shaurya", “Dus Kahaniyaan” and "Bachna Ae Haseeno".

Personal Life

When Lamba was growing up, her father was in the hospitality business and this gave Lamba the opportunity to travel around the country and meet many people.

Career

Lamba's long term ambition was to become a journalist. While studying for a degree in Delhi, Lamba pursued modelling as a hobby and soon became a well-placed model in the Indian modelling industry. Examples of Lamba's early modelling work include several television commercials for companies such as LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, Sunsilk, and also others.

Lamba had never prepared or intended to break into the film industry and even though she enjoyed modelling completing her studies was a priority of hers. In 2004, she majored in English with honours from the University of Delhi.

Then came her first movie in 2005 called "Yahaan", which was directed by Shoojit Sircar. This movie gave Lamba her break and she enacted the role with a lot of grace. Lamba’s dream role happens to be that of Kate Winslet’s in the movie “Titanic”.

It is to be said that though severely interested she was not at all prepared or ever intended to use modeling as a stepping-stone to films. So this offer to her was beyond imagination and she took Sircar's offer and moved on to acting in films. She says if she couldn't have been an actress, she would have wanted to be a war correspondent.

In 2008, she acted in Siddharth Anand's film Bachna Ae Haseeno which stars Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone along with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. This movie is produced by Yashraj Films.

In 2008, she is going for a glam Avatar....Minisha will don a White Bikini in the Film Kidnap...This film will see a scantily clad Minisha lamba, which is in stark contrast with her earlier films
