Mumbai Mirror is a compact newspaper in the city of Mumbai. Its first issue was published on 30 May 2005 by the Times Group, the publishers of The Times of India newspaper.

Tha newspaper was launched at the Gateway of India by Vilasrao Deshmukh, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Abhishek Bachchan on 2005-05-29.

The Mumbai Mirror was launched by The Times Group after Hindustan Times and DNA announced plans to enter the Mumbai market. Mumbai Mirror was advertised and publicised in its own sister media networks like The Times of India, Bombay Times, and Radio Mirchi.

The Times of India published a story [1] in its business section which said that it had a circulation of 1.5 lakhs while Mid-day's circulation had dropped to 1.24 lakhs. This led to a counter attack by MiD DAY claiming that Mumbai Mirror was an "Unqualified flop according to industry sources". It also filed a compaint with Audit Bureau of Circulation, (ABC) of which both MiD DAY and Times are members. The MiD DAY complaint says that the Times report has damaged its business interests.

The MiD DAY report also featured a newspaper agent who claimed that the Mumbai Mirror is being sold as 'raddi' (scrap paper) since there are no buyers.

The Mirror's main rival is the MiD DAY newspaper. Though ToI has been somewhat successful in capturing MiD DAY'smarket by offering the Mirror free with their regular newspaper, The Times of India.
