Route description

Meads Hill Road

Meads Hill Road, which eventually becomes Route 329, begins at an intersection with New York State Route 414. The road progresses to the northeast, shortly crossing a railroad track. The local road intersects with Mill Hill Road and turns northward. There are forests surrounding Meads Hill Road for a short distance, until the surroundings are dominated by fields. There are a few houses just north of the surrounding change, however, it becomes a little more common soon after. Meads Hill Road does not go into any village or city, so the whole route is located in a township.[2]

The local road still continues northward, passing the same surroundings as earlier. There is an intersection with Wedgewood Road, where the surroundings become divided along the highway. On the eastern side, there are forests, and on the western side, there are fields and a few trees. However, after an unnamed local road, Meads Hill Road is surrounded by trees and returning homes for a distance. At the intersection with Schuyler County Route 16 (Steuben Street), there is a small amount of civilization, with homes and fields returning to the road. The road continues northward and parallels Willow Road before terminating at New York State Route 329.

New York Route 329

At the intersection with Meads Hill Road, Route 329 begins its travel westward towards Watkins Glen. Route 329 passes some homes south of Watkins Glen State Park. The route intersects with Willow Drive, with which it is concurrent. The route continues eastward, intersecting with Willow Drive once more. The route becomes more populated along its duration, with the highway becoming surrounded by a high amount of homes. The route turns to the northeast and passed some fields. Route 329 then intersects with New York State Route 419, which heads a short distance into the park.[3]

Route 329 intersects with Schuyler County Route 17, where the highway gets the name of Old Corning Road. It heads northward, intersecting with Walnut Road, a connector to Route 419. Route 329 then enters the area of Watkins Glen, terminating at New York State Route 14 & New York State Route 414 (Franklin Street).[3]

New York Route 419

Back near the eastern parts of Watkins Glen State Park, Route 329 intersects with a local state road. This highway is designated as New York State Route 419. Route 419 is a short route, heading for .3 miles (0.48 km) into the park. The route heads northward from the southern terminus, intersecting with a local, unnamed road. The route continues northward, intersecting with Walnut Road. Route 419 continues a short distance, terminating at the southern entrance to the park.[4]
