Ninaithale Inikkum is a Tamil film is directed by K.Balachander.

Taking a step aside from the usual serious dramas that Balachander is known to direct, this film was an attempt at a light comedy with its music serving as the main attraction. The film follows lead actor Kamal Hassan who plays a singer and his band on a tour to Singapore. Over there Kamal meets his love interest (played by Jaya Pradha), only to find that she is terminally ill. The film ends on a tragic note with the lady's demise.

Rajinikanth plays a pivotal role as one of the members of Kamal's band, and plays a comic character.

The songs of the film were very popular, and are still remembered by the Tamil audience.

This movie is actually more brilliantly done than is apparent on first viewing. The initial impression that the direction is ham handed, the sequence jerky and the acting B-Grade is turned on its head when you watch it a couple of times. The key to the way the movie is made is the period when it is set - the tail-end of the anything goes hippie-culture. When viewed in this context you notice that the director has brilliantly set up the movie in such a way that it moves like a comic-strip. The pathos is not really pathos, the music is like strawberry jam and the characters are almost 2-dimensional.

Watch it more than once to get the real effect of Ninaithaley Innikum.
