Ghulam is is killed by a falling tree, and the marriage ceremony is postponed. Noorie's world collapses about her. Family friends persuade Noorie and Yusuf to get over the grief and marry, and they agree. At this time, Yusuf is asked by his employer to see to a work out of town. Yusuf leaves for a couple of days.
