Pathak is a community belongs to Brahmin Pandits. Pathak families basically belongs to Punjab, Delhi, and UP regions.

Brahmin, in Hinduism, refers to the class of educators and preachers. It is considered to be the highest class according to Hindu Dharma. There have been many references in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, about the importance of a brahmin. In vedic period, the brahmins prefered isolation and soley dedicated their life to propagate knowledge and dharma.
