Coordinates: Rohru is a town and a municipal committee in Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a small town located at the banks of Pabbar River and it is about 110 kilometres away from Shimla city.

As of 2001 India census[2], Rohru had a population of 6606. Males constitute 59% of the population and females 41%. Rohru has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 71%. In Rohru, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
The Pabbar river is excellent for trout fishing. There are many trout hatcheries in the villages under the Rohru area which are active. Apart from fishing, other adventure sports such as trekking, Paragliding, hang-gliding and River Rafting Ride are also coming up in a big way. Many Tourism Operators can arrange these services if they are informed in advance. Rohru is also a good destination for hikers and camping enthusiasts.
The primary industry of this area is agriculture and the most important crop of that is Apples. Primarily two varieties of apples are grown in and around Rohru: Royal Delicious and Rich Red.
