The Valley gets it name from the River Siran which flows through it.
The Siran river is originates from the Manda Gucha Glacier and merges into the Indus River. The Siran Valley has a lot of natural beauty.
The shrines of Ghazi Baba and his son, Jalal Baba, are located in Old Bogarmang.
On 8th April 2006, General Pervez Musharraf became the first Pakistani Head of State to visit this Valley. His visit to the village of Kodar Bala was in connection with the 6 month anniversary of the 8th October earthquake. While there he inaugurated the village mosque and laid the foundations for the rebuilding of the primary school. He later addressed a gathering of locals before flying back to Islamabad.[1]
The Valley may be reached by driving on the KKH from Mansehra until just past Shinkiari and turning right into the Mountains.
