Sumitra (Sanskrit: सुमित्रा)(ta:சுமித்ரா), in the Hindu epic Ramayana, was the third[1] of King Dasaratha's three wives and a queen of Ayodhyā. She was the mother of twins Lakshmana and Shatrughna.
