this page needs a shit-ton. ReverendG 21:11, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Having MCed, MC'ed, emcee'd, or emceed an arts festival, several plays as well as numerous improv and drama events, I feel it's safe to say that emcee is not a "misrendering" of MC. =P

The last sentence about kids being too poor to buy instruments - while it may well be true, it is a) unqualified, and b) off the point. This article is specifically about MCs, not the origins of Hip-Hop DJing/Turntablism. Removing this sentence. Beerathon 14:36, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Please clean this up. It's full of subliminal bias and should be merged with the MC page.
Shouldn't there be a discussion here of other types of emceeing beides in hip-hop, which at least eighty percent of the page seems to be devoted to?Lbark 02:34, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be worth mentioning the role of an MC during a wedding reception, which seems like a fairly common application of the MC role. --Anon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.107.0.73 (talk) 02:33, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
