Veeru Devgan is the father of actor Ajay Devgan and director Anil Devgan. He is also the father-In-Law of actress Kajol. He is a stunt and action choreographer who has been working in the film industry since the 1970s choreographing the fight and action scenes for over 80 films. He tried his hand at directing and made the film Hindustan Ki Kasam in 1999 which flopped.

Born in Punjab to a Tarkhan Ramgarhia family, he was heavily influenced by the Sikh Martial spirit and "get up and go" of many Sikh Punjabi families. This inspired him to learn martial arts and eventually pursue a career as a stuntman.
