  • Responses will be brief in order to comply with Wikipedia's privacy policy.
  • Due to technical factors, results are not always clear.
  • Check back regularly to see the outcome of your request.
  • Checkusers and clerks do not generally issue blocks. You may need to do this yourself or submit a request at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
  • Case subpages are typically archived several days after a checkuser responds.

All the accounts I have listed here are involved in this debate who supported a proposal to delete a controversial section, and these accounts have very little edits, and all their userpage sounds like it was written by one person. Deletion of well-cited information is obviously against any sort of consensus in the Wikipedia community and these accounts are obviously created for the sole purpose to skew consensus. I'm also suspecting that User:Carlisle Rodham, and User:Mrinal Pandey, who actively edits the article, may also be involved in this case as well. So far I have blocked all the obvious sockpuppets, which are accounts with few edits, and I just want to make sure that the less obvious sock puppets gets checked before any action are taken. 山本一郎 (会話) 10:54, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

A plague of rainbows

  • Supporting evidence: I believe TGH1970 is a sockpuppet of A plague of rainbows, previously blocked indefinitely for vandalism and sockpuppetry (see below (another edit: when I say see below, I meant the archive of his checkuser, which isn't appearing here for some reason)). This time it is hard to provide specific diffs, however, looking at TGH1970's contributions Special:Contributions/TGH1970, his account was created after his block, and 50% of his edits are in regards to me. As the user who gave him his final warning and blocked him, followed by discovering his sockpuppets and blocking them, I feel he has harbored some sort of grudge against me. The reason for this is (as see below the original request, the ip) he has got on proxies to continue to make an edit to the Pogs article that he did with his socks. This time he has been smarter about it, however, and was using this account to watch the Pogs page then getting on a proxy to revert it (that is what I believe happened, obviously I cannot prove that without a checkuser). I really want to assume good faith but as he rarely attempts to discuss it with me (see Talk:Pogs at the bottom) I have a strong suspicion it is him. He brought me up at AN/I which is a different issue, and my motivation is not based on that, however I've been looking for the account that he's been watching Pogs with for weeks and I think that is the evidence needed to initiate this checkuser and find out once and for all. As I said, the ANI is a different issue and I just want to make sure he's not evading his block. Banime (talk) 12:24, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Väino Koorberg

  • Supporting evidence: The same pattern of editing, reverts articles blindly to previous versions by a known hoax&sock puppet master.--Termer (talk) 09:24, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Particularly disquieting is the fact that the vandal uses a name combination, that a number of people actually have, as a google search demonstrates... --Miacek (talk) 10:00, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
I have personally witnessed Bloomfield's "contributions" to the project; his/her main style is to produce hoaxes to the Livonian, early dukes pages etc using range of IPs. To clean up his/her mess takes a lot of time as you may easily miss such edits. I think, that "newest" appearance of this user is on Belarusian People’s Republic page (perhaps semi-protection of page should be considered as well), used IP: 82.131.18.136 (talk • contribsWHOISRDNSRBLsblock userblock logcheckip). As this problem continues for years now I strongly suggest the IP range block to prevent the further damage of the project. M.K. (talk) 10:26, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
I second to M.K.. 'Bloomfield' has established tens of sock puppets that have caused significant disruption to Wikipedia. If 'John is fag' -style vandalism is quickly reverted, hardly any of 'Koorberg''s today's reverts were undone before I caught this user, having one of the articles concerned in my watchlist. At first sight, I was in doubt, whether it is an obdurate newbie or some old acquaintance.
Also, as already mentioned, he has now started using real persons' names, which I find absolutely outrageous. Miacek (talk) 10:38, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Well we still need to identify is Väino Koorberg same as Bloomfield and his socks/IP. Second I think that WP prohibits to use real names as your editing name, if that name is not yours as such per Wikipedia:Username_policy#Real_names. M.K. (talk) 11:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Väino Koorberg is certainly not the real name of the vandal here, for who would vandalize when using his/her real name? But I'm afraid in such cases it wouldn't be easy to convince a sysop to block a user due to user name policy violation, if the person concerned poses as the real X.Y.
Amazingly, I've also found out that User:Väino Koorberg began his wiki career with creating a certain hate page on Väino Koorberg. The question arises, how competent our sysops are, if they let one do such a trick and continue editing.
But let's wait till the checkuser results. --Miacek (talk) 11:23, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Also, this Estonian IP 90.190.105.12 (talk • contribsWHOISRDNSRBLsblock userblock logcheckip) acted in the similar manner as the one pointed out by M.K.
From the range Termer listed, 82.131.16.134 (talk • contribsWHOISRDNSRBLsblock userblock logcheckip) this one is almost certainly involved. --Miacek (talk) 11:48, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Naj-GMU

  • Supporting evidence: A bizarre pattern of editing by apparent socks or meatpuppets in HIV-related articles. Beginning on 31 October, user/s (using a sequence of related names, different with each group of edits) began adding unsourced or poorly sourced information. On 21 November, user began using a 2001 Nature article by Gary Nabel as a source for additional edits, copying multiple lines from the article on 1 Dec. I attempted to explain the copyvio policy to user, but under a new name (or whatever, I'm at a loss here), the user introduced a four-paragraph copy-and-pastiche from another copyrighted source several hours later, as well as another copyright violation (from this website at Antiretroviral drug.
