Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to Law. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians.   • Factual verification needed
    • Cinema of Japan#Copyright status of Japanese films - factual verification needed (necessary for wikipedia image screenshots from Japanese films), official Japanese references would be great
    • Florida v. J.L. - the article is being heavily edited by a generally unconstructive (and possibly though unlikely WP:COI) editor banned vandal. An editor who knows the facts of the case may want to make sure that nothing inappropriate is being done to the article. Chicken Wing (talk) 21:51, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Current law articles on peer review
  • Reopened assessment department
    • The assessment department has been defunct but now has been reopened with various glitches fixed. There are still a few minor improvements needed and are discussed on the talk page of the assessment department.
    • Input on the assessment scheme from members of this WikiProject are needed to reach a consensus on whether to adopt C-class or not - currently, there is no consensus.

Scope

This Wikiproject is aimed at creating a greater consistency among the law related articles. Key areas of concern include consistency in defining concepts across multiple jurisdictions and proper categorization of articles.

The common law

As a foundation for this effort, it is vital that we create a comprehensive explanation of the common law, which is shared by most English-speaking countries. The common law is clearly divisible into a number of key areas, each of which should be tackled and developed in turn. These areas are:

Each of these areas contains a wide array of long-established but nuanced doctrines, and each has a complex and ultimately fascinating history - making this a particularly worthy project for Wikipedia to conquer!

The Philosophy of law

A joint effort that can be undertaken between this project and Wikiproject Philosophy is to improve the quality of articles concerned with the philosophical questions about law itself. Key components of the philosophy of law include:
