Annie Award

Der Annie Award ist ein Filmpreis, der seit 1972 jährlich von der Association internationale du film d'animation (ASIFA) für besondere Leistungen im Bereich des Animationsfilms vergeben wird. Die Auszeichnung wird in verschiedenen Kategorien vergeben, wobei die „Königsklasse“ die Kategorie „Best Animated Feature“ ist, gefolgt von der Kategorie „Best Home Entertainment Production“. Neben diesen Kategorien gibt es noch weitere, wie „Best Animated Short Subject“, „Best Animated Television Commercial“, „Best Animated Television Production“ und „Best Animated Video Game“.

Weitere Kategorien beziehen sich auf persönliche Einzelleistungen in den Produktionen, wie „Animated Effects“, „Character Animation in a Feature Production“.

Die Trophäe ist in Form eines funktionsfähigen Zoetrops gehalten und soll damit auf die Ursprünge der Animationsfilmtechnik verweisen.
